A feather by the side of the road. Wet, discarded, and unnoticed. But when it was attached to the seagull, it flew over rivers and oceans, getting wet in the rain and drying out again in the summer breeze. Perhaps when it fell it landed next to a family having a picnic to celebrate the mother's first cancer-free test after a long battle. Maybe their dog sniffed it before he decided he would rather beg for potato chips.
