TESTIMONIALS

"Wickie Rowland is the go-to illustrator for Strawbery Banke Museum, a 10-acre living history museum in Portsmouth NH. Wickie designed an award-winning children’s book about a museum neighborhood resident – JD the Cat. She followed that up with a sequel that allowed JD to explore other sites in historic Portsmouth NH.
All of her carefully limned illustrations accurately depict the historical details of Strawbery Banke houses, contents and environs in such exacting detail they become easily scalable – whether as art prints for a wall or reduced to their most basic outlines. That made her the perfect choice when it came to commissioning a “Baby Animals: Heritage Breeds on the Banke” coloring book for the museum’s newest signature event.
Wickie Rowland is a talented artist, a conscientious professional and a responsive and delightful  project partner."

"Artistry , beauty ,whimsy with a generous dash of magic could only begin to describe the paintings that  invite the viewer to experience Wickie’s deeply wonderful visual ideas!

As she collaborates ....she works with, runs with and takes my ideas to a new level of expression, delighting the eye and inspiring the spirit.

Wickie has been illustrating my concert flyers and programs for ten years.  Wickie’s work is such an important  part of communicating and expanding my artistic/musical visions into new fantastic dimensions

I am so lucky to have worked with her for so long!  She is an important part of my overall creative expression and process as a musician.  Thank you Wickie!"

About the Farmhouse calendar: "I love the artwork and I love the concept.  I find myself  flipping through the months over and over again, studying the nuances and details of change through out the seasons, taking inventory of each character and what they are up to in that particular month,  and feeling a beautiful sense of nostalgia and wonder that each scene evokes.  It’s kind of very modern and yet very much like folk art at the same time.  It’s a thing of beauty.  I can’t wait until January 1 to hang it on my wall, although I may still have to pull it down to flip through the pages from time to time."

"Wickie has the rare ability to take a concept or vague idea and turn it into beautiful expressive artwork, which never fails to hit the target of what we are trying to communicate to our audience. Always produced with our sometimes demanding requirements, I am amazed with her ability to work within our scope and, time after time, come up with impactful and meaningful pieces."
